Please post here any ideas that you have for future meeting topics. If there is a topic that you would like brought up OR a specific speaker you would like us to try to bring in, please let us know.
I heard about this a little too late, or I probably would have gone out there for the event:
http://bugquash.com
The gist of it was that a bunch of Flex enthusiasts (fanatics, maybe) got together to learn how to set up your environment for working on the SDK, how the SDK is organized, how to submit a patch, among other things. Like I said, I'm really sad I missed it.
I don't know if our little group is ready to sponsor the next bugquash (they intend to have more)... but I think it would be benificial to learn more about the SDK; while at the same time giving us a little more confidence to pitch in a help where we can. Especially for those in the group (like myself) who have never contributed to an open source project.
I would be very interested in more training surrounding the internal architecture of Flex. Lately I've been finding myself wishing I understood how the event queue in Flex works when there are so many asynchronous requests going to the backend, long chains of code that's executed for every event, etc.... I've had a hard time finding documentation from Adobe on how this is all done internally, it seems to be mostly tutorials about event handlers. The best thing I've come across is this blog entry:
I'd be willing to put together a presentation on this, but I would definitely need more documentation to go off of. Does anybody have any leads in that regard?
