      Turning off expression
      Content:

      Hi,

Within After Effects CS4, I'm trying to make a man walk and stop using a looping expression property. At the point I want him to stop, I'm having trouble figuring out how to make him stop walking. I assume I have to turn off the 'loop out' expression property to do this. Is that right? (I used slider controls for his legs and arms to save time setting keyframes, then looped them using a 'loop out' expression.) Anyway, can someone tell me the easiest way to make this guy stop walking, whether it's turning off the expression or some other method? I would appreciate it very much.

Once again, I'm a beginner to After Effects. Thanks again.

      Dmitri

    • Hi Dmitri,

Most expressions have some sort of variable either for time or number of iterations. This is how you would make it stop at a certain point. Without seeing the expression you are using, it's hard to say what that variable would be. If you would like to paste the expression in the forum, I might be able to figure it out for you.

      good luck,
