      Title:
Understanding Flex application architecture & Spring ActionScript
      Date and Time:
      August 12, 2009 from 7:30pm - 10:00pm
      Address:
12304 Santa Monica Blvd., Suite 215A, Los Angeles, CA, 90025
      google map
      Speakers:

      Tom Bray

      Agenda:
      • 7:30 to 8:00 -- pizza, networking, and general Q & A.  Bring your Flex questions and get them answered.  Have a cool project you're working on?  Tell us about it!
      • 8:00 to 9:50 -- Flex Application Architecture & Spring ActionScript
The main presentation will begin at 8:00.  I'll start with the most basic application architecture, discuss the problems we face as our applications get more complex, demonstrate some of the common approaches to dealing with those limitations, and then -- Spring ActionScript.  If you're not familiar with the concept of dependency injection, I think this demo of Spring ActionScript will change the way you write your Flex apps.  If you know any Java developers who are interested in Flex, be sure to tell them about this meeting because they'll love Spring ActionScript.

      Hope to see you there!

Please RSVP below and leave a comment letting me know if you're bringing guests or have questions or a demo for the Q & A period from 7:30 to 8:00

    • What a minute, "dependency injection" ?!

Is this some kinda drug rehab thing?

Do I hafta pee in a cup or anything?

      • Ha!  It is kinda like rehab.  Sort of a 12-step program for improving coding habits.

    • bringing 1 guest

    • Have we met here before?  What is the parking situation?

      Michael

      • Same place as last time.  If you get there early, the parking entrance on Wellesley may be open and you can park down there, otherwise there should be street parking on Santa Monica or Wellesley.

    • Ok.  After double-checking the map, I recognize this place.
