There are quite a few great devs in the group that say I don't ask for speakers enough. So here it is.. If you are interested to present at DFlex please let me know (off list is fine) and I'm sure that the group would be very interested to hear what knowledge you are bringing to the table. If you are a presenter that needs some help to know what interests people, please check out this list of requested topics. http://dflex.groups.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=post.display&postid=33134 Jonathan
This month the Dallas Adobe User Groups have banned together for a special event. The first (and recommended way) is live from the IMC2 offices. Address: The second is to just attend online via the Connect Room that the If you take the second option you cannot be eligible for any giveaways done at the meeting. We will be canceling the normal monthly meeting for this meeting. If you have any questions please ask! RSVP Link: http://dflex.groups.adobe.com/index.cfm?event=post.display&postid=34370
Everyone,
First a special thank you to the cord group of Flex'ers that showed up for the year end planning. I know that having a planning meeting is never as fun as seeing some cool new piece of technology, but for those that came to share their ideas thank you. With year end planning I open the floor for any requests - this is the time to change and mold the group into what you need. The group went over a variety of requests from topics to presentation styles to requested presenters. The following is a breakdown of these requests.
As a followup to last night's meeting I wanted to shed light on a very time sensitive piece of news - as we discussed the Blackberry Playbook will run Adobe AIR. What this means for you is that the AIR applications you run now will be able to work on the cutting edge mobile tablet developed by Blackberry. As a side note the Blackberry Playbook also uses AIR for it's own applications - so this isn't just an extension but a native feature of the device. Blackberry recognizes that having the support of developers is the most important way to get adoption by the general public as it is the developer that brings the app. As a display of Blackberry's faith in developers Blackberry is starting a new promotion to get Playbooks out to application developers. You only need to go download the Blackberry SDK and start developing. If you get an accepted application into the marketplace, Blackberry promises to get you a Playbook. This is the most generous offer I've heard of yet and definitely encourage each of you to get to developing. You don't have to do this alone though, Blackberry is also providing training and resources to get you started. No reason not to get going! AIR IS EVERYWHERE! |
