We have an opening on our technical team for someone who can support and grow our existing Cold Fusion applications, as well as a new generation of Flash based eLearning applications. 

This is initially a contract position, but there is potential for an eventual move to employee status for right individual. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 Working on the design, development and deployment of our web tools.
 Maintaining Cold Fusion 8 applications and developing new tools and functionality
 Assisting with prioritization and scheduling of maintenance and new project timelines.

Qualifications include:

Analysis Skills:
 Ability to understand business needs and lead the technical implementation
 Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
 Good written/oral skills a must
 Ability to follow functional specifications and translate into CF and Flash code
 Ability to design the system and database schemas
 Respond responsibly to aggressive deadlines

Technical skills:
 Must have a minimum of 3 years web development experience
o Essential: Cold Fusion MX 8, JavaScript, CSS, XML.
o Desired: ASP.NET / PHP, Ruby, Java
 Minimum of 3 years of SQL Server 2000-2005 or related experience, specifically:
o Knowledge of TSQL
 Minimum of 3 years Flash experience and experience with Flash 8; Essential to know ActionScript 2.0
 Experience with deployment of applications from development/staging environments to production
 Familiarity/experience with localization (foreign language adaptation)
 QA experience

We are looking for part time (20-40 hr/mo) CF Developers to assist with our home grown application development and to backup our current developer with occasional customer support requirements.

What we need has three pieces and the first piece will require more on-site involvement.

The same person can be do all three. The first piece, which could take anywhere from one month to two months is as follows: A CF5 app, needs to be isolated from another CF5 App, which it is loosely coupled to, and placed on a new box and upgraded to CF8. This same box will also be getting SQL 2008 and the data moved over. We'd also like to make stored procs for all the data involvements. This is a very low traffic app, which is for uploading and downloading files.

Once that project is done, then the project that is described below begins. The first CF5 app mentioned above has already been converted to CF8 but it hasn't gone live yet. If enough knowledge sharing has already been accomplished, so that the programmer feels comfortable supporting and documenting the first app, then he can go off and do the support remotely. The third piece is to help with the promotion of that first CF5 app that has already been upgraded to CF8.

Initially the resource would develop technical documentation for our existing applications and later assist with modification, documentation and support of those applications. The application is in fusebox 2 and has about 28 small circuits. There is a project management application and a file management application that works with software builds.

Following the initial training and documentation phase (2-3 weeks full time), this work could be performed remotely. Suggestions will be welcome for code improvements.
