jQuery has been a phenomenal success, with many newcomers to the world of JavaScript frameworks choosing it, and many developers moving to it from other frameworks. jQuery UI is tipped to follow suit, and has already seen massive growth and take-up, with more success to follow. jQuery UI is a collection of engaging widgets and essential interaction-helpers that can help drastically reduce the amount of code you need to write and the amount of time you need to spend developing. Each component comes with a wide range of easy-to-use configurable properties and methods. This book will give you a head start in learning jQuery UI; exposing the APIs behind the complete range of components as of version 1.5.4, and including much of the functionality of version 1.6 of the library. Each component is methodically and consistently looked at, with many functional examples.

Ext JS was developed by a unified team of programmers working toward a single goal—to provide a consistent core user interface and interaction library. Ext JS really shines in making web applications easy-to-use and intuitive. Ext JS has the unique advantage of being the only client-side UI library that also works as an application development library. Learning Ext JS will help developers create rich, dynamic, and AJAX-enabled web applications that look good and perform beyond the expectations of their users. From the building blocks of the application layout, to complex dynamic Grids and Forms, this book will guide users through the basics of using Ext JS, giving them the knowledge required to create rich user experiences beyond typical web interfaces. It will also provide users with the tools they need to use AJAX, by consuming server-side data directly into the many interfaces of the Ext JS component library. If you are a web application developer, it's a great library to have in your arsenal.
