I know that many people use After Effects for several different types of animation. Some people use it to animate elements for the web or mobile, others use it to animate shots for IMAX movies, and still others use it for everything in between. I'm starting a discussion thread to showcase YOUR work in After Effects, or to discuss things that you've used After Effects for. Even if you don't have a link for it, perhaps you have a story about a project that you'd like to share.
Look! It's Adobe After Effects on the Computer Machine! Well done, animator! You're using After Effects to make Ani-Ma-tion!
Kinda the same story for the AE group - - I didn't have a chance to get online and write my regular blog posting - because I was in the air, coming to Adobeland North. Seattle Washington. It's beautiful up here. Vibrantly green. Cool crisp air. This week's full moon has provided for very low tides, teeming with life. Tomorow night I'm attending an Adobe User Group meeting at the Art Institute of Seattle. Come by and say hello if you're around!
Gil and I held the first SIGGRAPH Motion Graphics group in 2008 with great success. In 2009, not many people went to New Orleans. In 2010, this year, a huge crowd came to the motion graphics meetup during the Los Angeles SIGGRAPH convention. People came from as far as New Zealand, China, Brazil, and all parts of North America. We had over 120 people in our tiny little room. My first questions was "WHO USES ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS TO CREATE MOTION GRAPHICS?" Here are the hands. (see below). I asked if there was any other software - and everyone laughed. YEP - Motion graphics... After Effects. There is no other.
Just got the okay to start this group. What is it about? Well, it's not a specific group that meets in a physical location, this group was created to support and rally all of the world wide After Effects groups who get together to talk animation. Whether you talk about any of the other Adobe applications, this group is for those who hold After Effects above all of the other applications in their Adobe collection. I'll post resources, group highlights, tips and tricks and general meeting ideas in these pages. (You may be familiar with the PHOTOSHOP USERS page). Repost it in your group, tweet it, make it your status; spread the word: http://AE.groups.adobe.com Tonight, I'll be working on making this page look a little better. If you have any suggestions, let's hear 'em! Ko |
