Adobe Developer Connection holds an auction for the Flex Cookbook recipes. It's not about buying! All recipes are free for all readers, as usual. Auction is for writing recipes. The rules are simple: until today's midnight (August 20, 2009, 24:00 ET - check your time zone) you claim how many recipes you will write to the cookbook. The winner is who claimed the maximium number of recipes. Then you have 30 days to write them and after that get your nice Timbuk2 bag with "Adobe Developer Connection" signature.

Please claim your bids to esulliva@adobe.com.

Ed Sullivan, who is origanizing this, and who helped at least five of our members get their Flex Builder 3 Pro, warns: prize Timbuks will be packed with surprising Flex stuff. Our experience with Ed proofs that we can trust him (recall that professional Flex Builder 3 copies)!

Wish you a luck on auction, UAFPUGGERS!

    1. Meet others with similar professional interests (birds of a feather).
2 . Learn best practices from others (peers, experienced practitioners
    and experts).
    3. Help and teach others.
    4. Build a network that can help you and vice versa.
    5. Be able to see new things (related to core topic).
    6. Significant give-aways.
    7. Be inspired.
    8. Learn about what is going on in your professional circle/industry.
    9. Have the opportunity to give something back to the community.
    10. T-shirts, pens, books, stickers...

Why do you participate the community?

Usually, we have no problems with getting speakers for meetings, but if we get into situation like this, there's an interesting idea, which was first expressed by KeithJohnson, below is my interpretation:

    Speed networking

It’s like speed dating without the romance. Someone comes to stage and talks about how heor she uses flash or any questions on flash, really anything. After 5 minutes the alarm went off and another person somes to stage.

This can be a good addition to the meetings, where, for example we have 1-2 presentations. What do you think?

Creative Suite 4.
