The team is making lots of progress on Adobe Groups and there is still lots to do. We have been adding user groups starting yesterday and we have added 166 thus far and added 550 users in less than 14 hours. Great progress but more work to do.

    Bugs:

    1. We are seeing some login errors with pre-existing adobe.com cookies. The user will get a 404 when redirected to groups.adobe.com. This bug is being fixed.

    2. We are also getting reports from folks that want to change their display name. Display names are managed on Adobe.com here.

    Rollout Plan:

We will continue to add groups ongoing but the process is optional. Complete this form to add your User Groups to groups.adobe.com

    SHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.....

It is a matter of time before word spreads about groups. Once we get Community Managers assigned to their group sites, we would like for everyone to spread the word about Adobe Groups to their communities. Ideally this slight delay will give us time to close down the bugs that exist and get content looking top notch.

We also want all Community Managers to customize their groups image. These elements are there for you to be creative and capture the essence of your user group. I am looking forward to seeing what you do with the design.

Thanks for supporting Adobe Groups and please keep the feedback rolling in!

    Thanks,

    Ted Patrick

This evening Adobe Groups did a full development build and added many new features. We added a new user type that enabled community managers to become administrators of the groups they run, woohoo! The site added the official Adobe.com footer and a new RSS syndication resource (to be exposed soon). I am pretty excited about RSS syndication because it lets RSS drive lots of content into Adobe Groups. Every blog in the community and every article on Adobe.com can be on Groups with a few clicks.

Our team has been working all day handing out credentials to Community Managers and they have wasted no time customizing their groups home page, adding sponsors, and adding content. I was floored to see the customization of several user groups and would like to give some kudos to the groups and their passionate managers:

     DirectorForum and manager Martin Schaefer

AUG Chicago, The Chicago Area Adobe User Group and manager Michael Schaffner

Northern VA Adobe User Group and manager Lisa 'Kavka' Heselton

Flash Development User Group - FDUG and manager theSMINC(aka Lou Barber)

North West Adobe User Group and manager Elaine Giles

I am SURE I am missing some customized groups, so please post customized group URLS in this comments. Special thanks for customizing your groups and helping get Adobe Groups off to a great start.

    Cheers,

    TEAM C5X!

To close out the year, a new feature has been added to Adobe Groups: User to User messaging.

Logged-in users will see an Inbox link in their profile, and a link and icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. You can use this to send private messages to anyone in your Network.

A notice of new messages received will be sent to the e-mail address in your Profile. If you want to turn this off, you can do so in in your profile settings.

    Happy holidays!

    Hi All!

We did a final set of bug fixes and updates last night and the stage is now all set for opening day. Most of the changes were on the back end, but the most visible change is that you no longer need to log in just to visit the site, only to make changes or leave comments.

It's great to see so many groups adding the RSS feeds and customizations, not to mention all the upcoming events and even job posts!

Thanks for the time and effort you have put in. It's a real thrill to come to the site and see how much it's changing from hour to hour. Keep up the great work!

    Rachel

  • This week, RSVP has come to all Event Calenders on Adobe Groups. Now you can just click a box to say whether or not you'll be there.

All upcoming events have this feature, so give it a try: visit your favorite user group and RSVP for an event today!

If you’re coming here due to an email you received from introNetworks , please be aware that the introNetworks service is being discontinued as of November 10. Adobe Groups is our new community destination and it will be going fully live as of Adobe MAX 2008.

If you have questions or concerns please let us know.

    Thanks!

  • We made a big change to the Adobe Groups homepage today. Now, when you log in, you'll see a list of all groups that you have joined right there on the page.

No more bookmarking groups or having to go to your profile page to see the full list!

  • There's been a change to the Network feature in your user profile.

Now, when you add a user to your Network, they will receive an email letting them know that they've been added. That will make it easier for them to add you back!

One of the things that we've needed to add to Adobe Groups is more and better support for online-based user groups.

Today, we added a landing page for online Adobe user groups here. We've also extended the navigation to make these groups easier to find. Coming soon: changes to the front-page map to add online groups to the list there.

If there are other ways we can better support online user groups here, please let us know!
