Thanks to everyone who attended tonight, and a special thanks to Ted for presenting!

In the announcements, I mentioned the Auburn Fire. If you'd like to contribute to the American Red Cross' relief effort, make checks payable to American Red Cross - Placer District - 49 fire and send them to:

    American Red Cross, Placer District
457 Grass Valley Highway, Suite 8
    Auburn, CA 95603

I also talked about Microsoft's offer to feed the hungry if you download IE8. Basically, they will donate money to feed 16 people for each copy of IE8 that is downloaded from their site. So it's a win-win: we get to help feed people, and help kill off IE6 at the same time.

Thanks to all who attended last night.

Unfortunately, the recording managed to capture the video, but not the audio. I'm not sure what happened exactly...

I'm looking for someone to present in October. Please let me know if you'd like to talk about something to the group. I'm completely open as to the topic; whatever you feel comfortable with is good.

Hey, folks. I just wanted to take a quick moment and let everyone know that I'm aware that sierrammug.org is down. We're in the process of transferring its ownership over to me (the former manager, Gordon Clarke, had retained ownership because it was just easier that way) and have hit a snag or two. But rest assurred that I will get it back up and running as soon as I can.

We tried this this week, and I think it went well, so I'm going to officially add a post-event social from here on out. Basically, the idea is that the user group is supposed to be about more than just learning - it's supposed to be about fostering community amongst the membership. So after each meeting, anyone who is interested will be invited to join us to hang out, chat, and basically get to know each other. The actual location of the social is to be determined - we may try several different places over the next few months. I of course understand that the meetings are in the middle of the week, but if you can fit it in your schedule, please plan to join us.

The recording of our meeting on Flash Catalyst and BrowserLab can be found at http://experts.na3.acrobat.com/p34661172/.

The BrowserLab preview is currently closed, but you can check on the status to see when they reopen it by visiting http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/browserlab. If you are a Twitter user, you can also follow @adobebrowserlab, @sfegette (Scott Fegette, the Dreamweaver product manager), or @robhuddles (me) for updates on its availability.

You can download the free preview (beta) versions of Flash Catalyst and Flash Builder from Adobe Labs.

Information on us joining Scott Kelby's Worldwide Photo Walk will be following soon.

Thanks to everyone for showing up and being understanding about the last-minute venue change. Have a great summer!

A few minutes ago, I deleted the email accounts info@sierrammug.org and rsvp@sierrammug.org. Together, they accounted for something like 98% of my daily spam, while receiving close to zero legitimate traffic. We'll see what happens.

I can't begin to express to all of you members how taken aback I was last night at your generosity in your donations to Toys for Tots. Thanks to you, a lot of kids in the area are going to have a happier holiday season. It makes me very proud to be associated with such kind and giving people. So thank you.

Welcome to the official Adobe Groups site for the Sierra Adobe Mulitmedia User Group! This site is an exciting new benefit being provided to us by Adobe. For the time being at least, we are going to maintain both this site and the current group website at www.sierrammug.org

If you are a current member of the group, please take a moment to join on this site. You simply need to log in using your existing Adobe.com account (and it only takes a moment to create a free Adobe.com account if you don't have one), and then click the big "Join This Group" button on the homepage.

If you are not currently a member and would like to join us, please feel free to do so. We meet on the first Wednesday of each month, and don't worry if you don't live in Northern California, since we broadcast most of our meetings over the internet and currently have active participants in both Maryland and England.
