Exploring the 3rd Dimension of Flash
by Art Straub
While Adobe is rightfully proud of the ability of Flash to animate objects in 3D space, in truth, as some authors are fond of point out, native Flash is really more like "2.5D". That's because the objects you're moving are only two dimensional. But it doesn't have to end there. Art will present a demonstration of animating true 3D objects in Flash. He'll demonstrate and compare the use of the Papervision3D class, a pure Action Script solution, with FreeSpin3D, an extension for the Flash development environment.
