Can anyone recommend a good magazine diagramming software package that works with billing, ads, and layout (specifically Adobe InDesign). We were using Mactive, but will need to find another tool. Any thoughts?
TECHEAD, our location Sponsor has agreed to 8 events for 2010, just as 2009. The months will be:
- Feb
- March
- April
- May
- June
- September
- October
- November
The same as this year. This means we have NO meetings Dec 2009, Jan 2010, July 2010, August 2010, December 2010.
Would anyone be up for a more informal meeting those months? It would not have to be on the first Monday and we could just meet to meet or still hold an event. So that means we could meet at a restaurant or bar or at someone's office to have our meeting. Let me know, this is more a RAUG brainstorm than a concrete idea. We have 5 "Off" months upcoming, What should we do?
Looking backwards we can always see our mistakes and as 2010 looms I would like to learn from those mistakes. The goals of RAUG are very simple:
Moving forward to accomplish these goals and not be stagnant in our group I feel we need to divide the responsibilities to accomplish the goals. Currently our Main Sponsor TECHEAD foots the bill for everything, and provides the brainstorming on the events. They go above and beyond the requirements for sponsorship. To unload this burden we need to create some positions in RAUG.
Co-Manager: Get all the great benefits that I do as the manager, Adobe pens and all the stickers you could ever want! Also as far as duties, Should be able to talk in front of the group, introduce speakers and socialize. You will be working with the new RAUG team to get events underway.
Event Planner: We need someone connected, and not shy asking people to talk. You will be the main person looking for new talent and reaching out to speakers. Currently our sponsor TECHEAD has agreed to 8 meeting next year at ArtWorks, so you only need to find 8 people next year!
Sponsorship Director (Sounds Official): Find us some sponsors! Anything and everything goes for this, from Pizza to Full blown Product Demos. Here you will be reaching out to local and National companies to ask for anything they will give. This year OnOne Software gave us a bunch of stuff and Markzware, Last year we had Worth Higgins Printing come out with the sales staff to do a presentation and Pitch, so everything goes. Everything we do at RAUG is free, keep it that way by finding sponsors. (Just no more Stickers:) ). All that would be required is after identifying the source, contacting via email. Remember we currently only have 8 events planned for 2010, so that means 8 sponsors.
If you are interested in any of the positions please notify me. If you feel that I have left out a vital role, and you think you would be great at it, please tell me too.
The past years have been great only because of your support. I want to thank Ricardo Anderson for taking the photography and Flicker page and really doing it great and Edwin Huertas, who is stepping down from the CO-Manager role for the vital work he did this year!
