The Ottawa Flash Platform User Group is bringing you another great event on July 7th, with presentations by two big names, Jonathan Snook and Julian Dolce. There will be a wealth of knowledge and experience in the room, so you won't want to miss out. Come to watch, listen, learn, ask questions and get to know your fellow Flash/Flexers in the Ottawa area.

We hope to see you all there. The community needs your support!
We know everyone has been waiting a LONG time for this, and it's finally here!
Adobe has added Ottawa to the list of locations on their user group tour where they will be announcing the launch of [Flash Builder 4 / Flash Catalyst] Beta.
RSVP as soon as possible because I'm telling you, this event WILL FILL UP FAST.
See you all there!

Similar to Adobe changing "Flex Builder" to "Flash Builder", we are also changing our group name from "Ottawa Flex User Group" to "Ottawa Flash Platform User Group".
The reason by our rebranding is that we wanted to open the group up to a wider audience to get the community in Ottawa going again. Our long term goals are to have the Flash Platform User Group branch off into smaller more focused groups, while maintaining partnerships in order to hold larger events.
The group is still going to be focused on more "developer" based topics and will almost always include code, however, we want the developers and designers to be working and learning together while these new technologies imerge and evolve. So look out for some more "creative" topics and get used to designers being around. Tip: Your D&D shirt may not always be the coolest shirt in the world to everyone.
Feel free to leave your comments, however, please remember this is a publically accessible site. :)
The organizers over at the FITC (http://www.fitc.ca) have sent us TEN festival tickets to give away at our next meeting. Each ticket will be paired with an Adobe Swiss Bag. I'd estimate each package at around $800! All you need to do to get into the raffle is
1. Be a member of the group
2. Give us some feedback on Flash Camp (currently in the discussion session) OR suggest some ideas for the next one
3. Come out to the meeting on April 1st and hope your name get's picked!
See everyone then!
