ColdFusion will have a new release soon as version 9. We are also going to have a new ColdFusion IDE as ColdFusion Builder.

In our September meeting, we will have an open session to talk about upcoming release of ColdFusion 9 and ColdFusion Builder.

"This presentation will explain the importance of the architecturing software and steps for considering future of the applications. Mike Brunt has been coding web applications since 1993 and began using ColdFusion at version 1.54 in 1995-6. He designed and created the first on-line international industrial equipment mart in 1997 (Power Bank International) at the request of a Cummins Engine Company subsidiary. In 1998 he worked with Kodak and Lucent Technologies to create a pioneering web based TeleRadiology cross-consult portal when Radiologists and Primary Care Physicians could review patient medical images. Allaire recruited Mike in 1999 to join a ColdFusion-JRun consulting team. This team was dispatched world-wide to help Allaire then Macromedia clients design and troubleshoot ColdFusion applications. In 2001 Mike co-founded his own company – Webapper Services LLC along with another Macromedia consultant, Patrick Quinn. From 1999 to the present day, Mike has been very focused on the server-side of ColdFusion helping users worldwide to troubleshoot applications and to create strategies which ensure Enterprise level ColdFusion applications can be scaled effectively and efficiently.

Agenda

ColdFusion is used in thousands of large enterprise environments, many of which inevitably employ clustering of resources to provide redundancy and scalability. In this presentation Mike Brunt will look an overall ColdFusion high availability (HA) environment.

This presentation will explain the steps of designing and architecturing multilingual applications and methods in ColdFusion with best practices. The main goals will be explaining the structure of multilingual applications, defining requirements and solutions, and providing best practices with code samples.

Explaining the theory for i18N (internationalization), L10N (localization), g11N (globalization) and other known approaches, defining opportunities to create effective solutions such as Java platform tools usage or designing better database or setting up your environment to make multilingual applications easier to write are some of the topics.
