I'm looking for a very junior (eg, recent college graduate or equivalent inexperience) programmer for a small IT company based in Northern Virginia called Systems Definition. Your main job will be to test web applications and other software we build, and pick up the slack with a variety projects. You should know the basics of web application development, especially Java, HTML and JavaScript. Experience with Adobe Flex and/or Flash would make you really stand out. Database work, C#, or another language would also be good.

Most of our work is with the Navy at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC, so you must be eligible for a security clearance, the main requirement of which is being a US citizen in good standing.

You can work from home most of the time, but weekly meetings in Lynchburg will be required as well as travel to DC when necessary (a couple times a month) and anywhere else we may need you. We travel to New York City several times a year and are looking at other cities for work.
