The presentation tonight will cover some of the new data centric features in FlashBuilder 4 and I'll be showing you how to integrate Coldfusion 9 services into your Flex applications.  Although I'll be using Coldfusion, the features demonstrated will work with PHP and other server-side technologies.

Here are some of the things I'll cover:

    • Setting up a Flash Builder data service
    • Introspecting and importing a CFC (Coldfusion service)
    • Displaying data from the service
    • Generating a Master/Detail form
    • Managing Coldfusion data (create, read, update, delete)
FlashBuilder 4 makes these operations easier than ever.  If you haven't checked out the data centric features, be sure to come to the meeting tonight!

The Early Bird registration discount ends on August 31st.  Still on the fence about attending?  Here are some things to think about:

    • First, watch Ben Forta explain why you should go
    • Second, think about how much a 3-day Flex training course would cost (around $1500).  MAX is that plus a whole lot more.
    • Next, consider the fact that MAX is in your home town this year so you won't have any travel and lodging expenses to prevent you from going.
    • Then, go register with this link that benefits L.A. Flex.
I've been to 3 MAXes and each one was well worth it.  The sessions, the networking, and the parties are great and I even made some friends for life.  You don't want to miss it!

If you haven't heard by now, Adobe MAX 2009 is going to be in our lovely home town of Los Angeles on October 4-7!

The attached PDF contains all the Flex-related sessions at MAX.  Be sure to read through it because you'll get a sense of all the great stuff you can learn when you attend.  The sessions alone are worth the cost of entry and the networking opportunities and the chance to meet the Adobe team makes attending even more valuable.

Once you're thoroughly impressed, click here to register!  Using that link will contribute to the L.A. Flex group and if 10 folks sign up, we'll have a free pass to raffle off but we have to hurry so sign up now!  Then get your co-workers and friends to sign up!
