training from experts in Adobe ColdFusion, Flex, AIR, and Flash Catalyst
will take place October 24/25 at Indiana University.
BFusion is a full day of hands-on Adobe ColdFusion training. ColdFusion,

interactive web applications. BFusion features a true beginners track, a
beginners track for programmers new to ColdFusion, an intermediate track on
framework-based development, and other hands-on sessions for intermediate
and advanced developers.
BFlex is a full day of hands-on Flash Platform development with Adobe Flex,
AIR, Flash Catalyst, and Flash Builder. These technologies allow development
of Rich Internet Applications for the web as well as cross-platform desktop
applications. This event also features beginner and true beginner tracks, as

year is a track for designers looking to use Adobe Flash Catalyst for
developing Rich Internet Applications with no programming skills.
This is a tremendous training opportunity, especially with the cuts in
training and travel budgets. Some of the sessions being given at this event
are the same sessions by the same speakers as were at Adobe MAX in LA last
week for as much as $595 for the day of training. These events only cost
$10/day.

Get introduced to using the GAIA Frameworks for Flash at the October 19th meeting of AUG Chicago, The Chicago Area Adobe Users Group.
Frameworks for Flash can be useful for many reasons, most importantly it brings together designers and coders under one common understanding. While some Frameworks can be quite daunting, GAIA is one of the simplest, most approachable Flash frameworks available and can assist Flash developers of all levels of experience. GAIA basically auto creates all the low level stuff needed by for a Flash project. Designers can then take the. fla file to start their work while programmers can begin with their coding.
Our guest presenter, Brian Busche, will explain exactly what a framework is and how using them can improve workflow, and streamline the development process. Brian will show that even with a modest understanding of ActionScript, you can leverage the GAIA framework for your Flash projects.
Also: MAX, Adobe's annual user conference, took place last week and we'll have a recap of the hottest news and announcements from that event.
If all this wasn't enough (and by-golly it should be) we will be raffling off a copy of an Adobe Creative Suite 4. Note: winner needs to be present to win.
